Gianmaria Odello of Wetryk sas, based in Milan, Italy, has joined the TBK Network of business consultants globalizing the software industry.
The Italian IT market is the 4th biggest IT market in Europe. However, Italy is seldom on the top of the list of foreign software companies looking for international expansion. The Italian software industry is benefitting from the size of the domestic market, but also from the lack of interest shown by foreign software companies. Strangely enough the Italian software industry is not taking advantage of this lucrative position to use their well protected home market as a springboard for export activities. The presence of the Italian software industry on the international markets is close to zero.
“The Italian software industry is as innovative and creative as anywhere else in the world, and I see no reason why we should not be able to make our software available outside Italy”, says Gianmaria Odello, sr. partner by TBK Consult in Italy. It would be obvious to take a look at software supporting industries where Italy already has a leading position in the world markets. But also the extreme large numbers of small and medium sized enterprises in Italy provides for software which is easy to implement and easy to use. TBK Consult Italy will help the Italian software industry take better advantage of their international sales and marketing opportunities.”
The internet penetration in Italy is over 60% and continues to show major growth. As the 4th largest market in Europe, Italy should be on all software companies list of markets to penetrate.
“Major inhibition factors to enter the Italian market have been the language barrier and the legal/financial/administrative constrains for a foreign Company to operate in Italy” says Hans Peter Bech, founder of the TBK Network. “With our new office in Milan and the international experience of Gianmaria Odello we can provide services adequate to overcome these inhibition factors and help foreign software companies’ gain access to the 4th largest IT market in Europe”.
